* The next AIESEP World Congress will be hold in Auckland (New Zealand) on February 10-13, 2014. Preliminary information is available on Internet (www.aiesep2014.com). Regular precisions will be provided through the AIESEP Flash Newsletter as well as on the AIESEP Website. Be attentive.

* The Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences of the University of Jyvaskyla (Finland) are developing a new web-based, students´ feedback system for Finnish schools based on a battery of objective measures (e.g. fitness/performance tests, such as 20m shuttle-run test and flamingo standing test) as well as subjective measures (e.g., self-reported fatigue, perceived athletic ability etc.). The main objective of this individual system is to motivate students to sustain and/or develop their physical activity and fitness levels. They are currently working on reviewing similar feedback and/or reporting systems used in PE from a broad set of international sources. For this reason we would be greatly appreciative if members of the AIESEP’s community could suggest similar systems, or provide the contact information of some colleagues working within this type of project. * “Sport as a Mediator between Cultures” is the theme of the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE) conference to be held 15-17 September, 2011, at the Wingate Institute in Israel. The conference programme offers presentations and panel discussions, workshops and field trips to development projects examining the potential for sport to promote social development and understanding among nations. Participants from over 25 countries are expected. IIrina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO, and Wilfried Lemke, Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Sport for Development and Peace, are invited participants. * The ICSEMIS 2012 will be organized on July 19-24th in Glasgow (United Kingdom). For all information, see the websitewww.icsemis2012.comcontact the Local Organizing Committee at info@icsemis2012.com. Abstracts are due to the Convention Secretariat on or before 1 November 2011.

* The network Research in Sport Pedagogy has been established within the European Education Research Association (EERA), to provide a platform for researchers working in the academic spaces where education and sport come together. The network aims to share research expertise and to establish strong international consortia to bid for research funds. The new network will be launched with a symposium at the2011 European Conference on Educational Research, taking place at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany from 12-16 September. * The International Symposium on Sport Sciences will be held in São Paulo, Brazil from 6-8 October, 2011, and focus onSpeculation and Evidence in Physical Activity and Sports. The programme includes courses on strength training; physical activity and health; ageing and physical activity; and exercise physiology. Additionally, meetings will be held of sports, nutrition, sports medicine, the Agita Mundo Network and RAFA (Physical Activity Network of the Americas). * The 7th ARIS’s congress will be organized in Amiens (France) on May 24-26, 2012 by the University of Picardie-Jules Vernes. The theme is “Intervention, research and education: What issues? * The 2012 AIESEP Specialist Seminar will be organized on January 4-6 at the University of Birmingham (UK). The theme will be‘Sport & Exercise Pedagogy’: Defining the Field. Invitations will be sent by the organizers.

* The Department of Sociology at the J. Pilsudski University of Physical Education in Warsaw want to share a new book titled "The Sociology of Physical Culture." It is ~ 480 pages and written in Polish. Table of contents: Part One -- Prolegomenon: (1) Birth and development of sociology of physical culture; (2) Theoretical orientations in sociology of physical culture; (3) Society, culture and physical culture; (4) Global culture and physical culture; (5) mass culture and physical culture; (6) Influence of globalisation on physical culture; (7) Physical culture in postmodern society; (8) Olympism and modernity. * Journal of Physical Education and Sport (JPES) (www.efsupit.ro ) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that provides open access to its content with 4 issues per year. The JPES has been classified (B+) in 2011 by the National Council of Scientific Research in Higher Education in Romania. The journal is indexed in: Scopus Elsevier, Index Copernicus International, DOAJ, ProQuest, ABES, GOOGLE SCHOLAR, EBSCO – Sport Discus with full text, databases and listed in more than 30 virtual libraries worldwide. The main objective of JPES is to reunite specialists from different fields, such as sport, physical activity, kinesiology, education, health and nutrition, in order to provide the opportunity of multidisciplinary debates and comprehensive understanding of how physical activity influences human life. Researchers from areas related to sport and health will be invited to publish their newest gathered information and its practical applicability. The target group involves specialists from different fields, such as: academic researchers, kinesitherapists, PE and sport teachers, physicians in sports medicine, psychologists, nutritionists, coaches or any other specialists related to the sport domain.
